Claremore Sequoyah Football Preview: Offense – Presented by Red Crown

Head coach – ROB GILBREATH

2021: 7-4

Six offensive starters return for coach Rob Gilbreath and the Sequoyah Claremore Eagles in 2022. “We are a young team with little depth,” Gilbreath said. “We have some good talent but some young kids are going to be relied on to perform.” The goal for the Eagles this season is to control the ball out of a spread wing formation. Leading the way will be quarterback Landon Gilbreath (6-1, 185, So.) who had 856 yards passing, 567 rushing, and 13 total touchdowns as a freshman. Logan Hattaway (5-10, 185, Sr.) had over 2,000 yards rushing and 20 touchdowns in 2021. In his career he has over 3,000 total yards and 42 touchdowns. He can also make an impact on special teams when returning kicks and can score from anywhere on the field. Wide receiver Dylan Piguet (5-10, 175, Sr.) had nine touchdowns and Karson Bickel (6-4, 180, Sr.) is a do-it-all type player and can make an impact wherever he lines up. Bickel will make appearances at receiver, tight end, and all three levels on defense. Dylan Burks (5-11, 175, So.) is an explosive playmaker that can play out wide or take carries out of the backfield. Offensive tackle Tucker Long (6-0, 240, Jr.) provides experience up front and will help protect the pocket and establish the running game.
