Claremore’s Ben Jordan – “Talk of the Tailgate” presented by Taco Bueno

Claremore High School junior Ben Jordan had high expectations coming into the 2022 season. Playing in the trenches is tough, but it’s where Jordan feels most at home.

Over the offseason, head coach Jarrett Hurt said Jordan made big improvements in the weight room and is considered one of the top character guys on the team.

“Ben is a high character young man who works his tail off in the weight room. We look for big things out of Ben this season,” said coach Hurt.

For Jordan, playing under the lights on a Friday night is as good as it gets.

“Friday nights are special when you think about the countless hours, we have put in so we can be as good as we can be at game time,” said Jordan. “There’s not much I won’t miss about Friday nights. The only think I could probably say is the nerves building up to the game.”

The Zebra football team has several keys players this season and the team is off to a great start with an overall record of 3-1 after four games.

“The team I’m on is full of leaders and I love how we hold each other accountable,” said Jordan.

Being a student-athlete at Claremore High School is special for many reasons.

“I love going to school at Claremore High because all the people from the students and the teachers and staff make it a great atmosphere,” said Jordan.

Jordan is thinking about his future and what that will look like after he graduates from college.

“If I get a scholarship my plans are to go to college and play football and get into coaching after I graduate,” said Jordan.

After the game you can usually find Jordan and his teammates grabbing some food before heading back to school for a film and lift session the next morning.
