Bartlesville’s Jacob Veit shares his favorite part of being on a team – Presented by Rib Crib

VYPE: What are your goals for this season? 

Jacob: My goals for the season are to grow and develop and to win state.

VYPE: Who is your favorite athlete and why? 

Jacob: My favorite athlete is Kevin Durant because he motivates me to grow, not just on the court and develop, but off the court with my mental state.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Jacob: My favorite teacher is Mr. Bowerman because I have a relationship with him outside of school and he’s funny, relatable, and he’s there for me when I need him. 

VYPE: Who do you look up to and why?

Jacob: I look up to Will Smith because he motivates me to keep going and have a successful future.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why? 

Jacob: Aadhi Ayyappan because he helped me learn the system, develop and grow on the court while being a good friend and always supporting me.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?  

Jacob: The relationships and the memories. 

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you? 

Jacob: I would go to Cayman Island and I would take my family and my girlfriend.

VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?

Jacob: I first got into playing basketball in second grade from a friend I played a tournament with and I really liked it so I kept playing from there. 

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish. 

Jacob: I want to say thank you to my mom, dad, my family, and teammates for being there and continuing to push me and driving me to a good path even when I felt like I couldn’t but they never gave up on me and so I thank them so much for that.
