Throughout the career of an athlete, they experience a lot of exciting and memorable moments. Whether it is a championship, a personal milestone, or just continually working to become better, these moments stick in the athletes mind and help shape their career. Inola’s Macey Eaves says that her career as a whole is what she sees as her favorite memory.
“The highlight moment of my career has been starting all four years of high school as setter,” she said. “Another great memory was our team winning the Catoosa volleyball tournament and being named tournament Most Valuable Player.”

Eaves is a senior at Inola High School. Along with volleyball, she also plays shooting guard on the basketball court for the Lady Longhorns. Playing sports is nothing new for Macey. She began playing basketball in Pre-K and she started volleyball about seven years ago.
There have been numerous people that have had an influence on Macey’s life and helped shape her into the person and the athlete that she is today. But for her, there are two people that have made the biggest impact on her life.
“My parents are my biggest role models,” she stated. “They work really hard and teach me to do the same.”
Inola’s head volleyball coach, Tyler Swope, says that Macey is on the verge of making history this season.
“She is a four year starter for our squad,” Swope said. “She is an outstanding volleyball player and is only 87 assist away from breaking our school’s all-time assist record.”
She has put in a lot of work in order to become the athlete that she is today and she says that you have to work in order to reach your goals.“I have put in a lot of time and hard work,” she said. “You have to be willing to put in the work in order to get where you want.”
Along with playing sports at Inola, Eaves is also a member of the National Honor Society and the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America organization.
