Dewey High School senior Rain Davis is a member of the varsity softball team and a member of the FFA chapter at school. Davis first joined the FFA in the eighth grade and has loved every minute of it.
“I have been doing things through 4-H since I was about nine years old so getting older and being able to get into FFA was always a dream of mine,” said Davis. “What I love most about FFA are the memories we make together.
As a member of the FFA chapter, Davis has made an effort to be involved in many of the activities the chapter has to offer. From showing livestock to public speaking, Davis said she enjoys all of the activities the chapter has to offer.
“Some of the things I enjoy doing is showing my livestock and giving speeches,” said Davis. “I show goats and cattle.”
As a student-athlete at Dewey High School, Davis has to keep up with her grades while competing and representing the high school and her teammates.
“I play softball and I am part of National Honor Society,” said Davis. “My teammates are there to pick me up no matter what. Whether it be on the softball field or off the field, they never fail to be there when I need them. Me my teammates have been through good and bad together and have stuck together through it all. I love how I am always having fun when I am with the team and coaches.”
The left fielder said her parents have been a big influence in her life.
“If it wasn’t for them then I would not be where I’m at today. They do so much for me and always try to encourage me to do the right things,” said Davis.
The senior offers this advice to anyone wanting to join an FFA chapter.
“I would tell them to do it because most incoming eighth graders do not really know the true meaning of FFA until they join and become involved, if you do, you will not regret it.
