Miami’s Mikah Culver – FFA Spotlight – Presented by OK Ag Credit

Miami High School sophomore Mikah Culver first joined the FFA when she was in the ninth grade thanks to the encouragement of a family member.

“My grandpa is the person that encouraged me to be in ag because he was in ag and he knew that being involved in ag and FFA would help me to grow my knowledge and give me so many different opportunities,” Mikah said.

Mikah participates in several activities as a member of the FFA and has plans start showing livestock.

“The thing that I enjoy most about being in FFA is being involved. I love being a leader within our chapter by serving as the chapter Treasurer. I also enjoy competing in cattle grading and livestock judging,” Mikah said. “While I don’t currently own any livestock projects, I do plan to get a goat to show next year. Even though I don’t show I can still be found supporting my peers and volunteering at local and county shows.” Mikah is a member of the varsity cheer team and part of the student council when she’s not in FFA.

“Growing up, my uncle played football in Miami, and I went to a lot of his games. I would watch and see the cheerleaders and loved seeing them on the sidelines cheering. I always had a feeling that it was a part of what I wanted to do and that it was part of who I was. I love my teammates and my coach and enjoy cheering on our Wardogs on Friday nights,” said Mikah.
Mikah said she would like to possibly attend cosmetology school at a technical school and go to college to become a dental hygienist or a pediatrician.
