VYPE: What are your goals for this season?
Owen: My goals this season are to place at state, and hopefully even podium.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use daily?
Owen: My sport has taught me patience. Tennis is a game that requires a lot of patience, even though I am not very patient on court.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?
Owen: My favorite teacher is the Oklahoma History teacher at BHS, Mr. Jenner, because of all of the engaging stories he has to tell.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
Owen: My parents inspire me. They’ve taught me to work hard for everything.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?
Owen: The teammate that has left the biggest impression on me is Will Bolding. He is one of my best friends and we have spent countless hours playing and improving together.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Owen: My favorite part about being on the team is spending time together away from the courts. Nothing beats team dinners after tournaments.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Owen: If I could go on vacation anywhere, I’m going to Hawaii with my family.
VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Owen: I’m passionate about my sport because I don’t think there is anything like it. You must prove to be better than your opponent while reacting to your opponent’s actions, as they have the same goal. There is only one winner in tennis.
