Q&A with Bartlesville’s Marissa Demuth – Presented by Corey Else NSR Recruit

VYPE: What goals do you have for this year? 

Marissa: Some goals that I have for this year is to make frontier valley all conference, and to get 100 kills this season. 

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life? 

Marissa: Playing volleyball has taught me to be a part of a team and how to work with others. 

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why? 

Marissa: My 8th grade history teacher Mr. Khonle was my favorite teacher because he did fun activities with us, and acted out the events that we were learning about to help us remember them. 

VYPE: Who inspires you and why? 

Marissa: My parents inspire me because they work hard for everything and are never scared to stand up for what’s right. 

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why? 

Marissa: Emry Brown, because when I’m not playing the best or having a hard day she is always the first to give me a pep talk and tell me that everything’s going to be alright. 

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team? 

Marissa: I love the team dynamic and how everyone is best friends with everyone on the team, it’s like one big family. 

VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain. 

Marissa: My dad, because he’s 6’8 and he played college basketball, and high school soccer. He also coached basketball and soccer, and likes to study different volleyball techniques to try and help me. 

VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play? 

Marissa: I think it would be cool to be a gymnast. 

VYPE: What’s your go-to pregame song? 

Marissa: “Levitating” by Dua Lipa
