Varsity softball player and FFA member, Karly Loftis, is a senior at Adair High School. Loftis first joined FFA when she was in middle school thanks to some encouragement from a family member.
“My mom encouraged me to be involved in FFA because she was also in FFA in high school. I enjoy the friendships and teamwork that FFA has given me,” said Loftis. The senior is involved in the nursery/landscaping judging team. She also shows livestock.
“I show lambs and goats,” said Loftis. Some advice that I would give someone looking to join FFA is that there is something for everyone and you will come out better than you went into it.”
As a member of the softball team, Loftis said she’s enjoyed every minute of being on the team with her teammates.
“I love softball because there is always something new and different happening. It has been a great learning experience and I enjoy spending time playing and practicing. I love my teammates because they are always there for me and are always on my side. My teammates are truly some of the best friends and I am so thankful softball gave me the opportunity to know them,” said Loftis.
Loftis said her family has been her biggest supporter and she is going to enjoy her final year of high school before heading off to college.
“My friends and family have been a huge part of my life because they always believe in me and push me to be the best person I can possibly be. I am not quite set on a certain plan for after I graduate, but I am definitely going to go to college,” said Loftis.
