Q&A with Bartlesville’s Emry Brown – Presented by Patriot Auto

VYPE: What goals do you have for this year?
EMRY: I want our team to make it to the state tournament this year!

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
EMRY: Volleyball has taught me that pouring into other people when they’re down is the most important part of team work.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
EMRY: My favorite teacher is probably Mr. Harp because leadership was the best class ever and he left an impact on us and made us feel like we could always talk to him. And he’s just hilarious!

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
EMRY: Growing up probably my family because they always supported me, but for volleyball my UPVBC coaches Steve, Missy, Brad, and Mieka have pushed me to be my best and wouldn’t let me give up on myself. They always made sure that I was a good player, but a good leader and teammate first.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
EMRY: Maddy James from my club team has had a huge impact on me as a teammate and as a person.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
EMRY: I love being around my teammates and competing with them.

VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.
EMRY: Probably my older brother because he’s good at everything and he is the strongest in the family.

VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play?
EMRY: I wish I could play tennis, it seems like so much fun!

VYPE: What’s your go-to pregame song?
EMRY: Definitely “Maria” by JB.
