Jace Williams 

Dewey High School

Jace Williams is a senior at Dewey High School and a member of the varsity basketball team. Williams has played point guard for Dewey for the past two seasons and according to coach Lance Knight, Williams is a leader on and off the court. 

“He has a strong knowledge of the game and sees the court very well. Has the capability of averaging a double/double every night,” said Knight. 

As a junior, Williams averaged 12 points, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game last year. Now a senior, Williams said he is looking forward to getting back on the court/ 

“I love being a student-athlete at Dewey because of the environment and atmosphere, everyone in the town is a supporter for you on and off the court,” said Williams. 

Williams said he is looking forward to seeing what this team can accomplish. 

“We have a couple freshman that are going to step in the game but I’m most excited for Zaiden Masters and Ryder Muninger, they are two dudes who can play and understand the game at a higher level,” said Williams. 

The goal this season is to make the state tournament and bring home a title. Williams said he thinks this will be a “great season for the Bulldoggers” this year. 
 In the classroom, Williams said picking a favorite teacher is tough, but he his favorite subject is an easy one. 

“My favorite subject would probably be history, but my favorite teacher is probably Ms. Hannaford,” said Williams. 

After graduation this spring, Williams said he plans to attend college and would like to continue playing basketball at the next level. 

“After I graduate, I would like to continue to hand out buckets on the court and become a pharmacist,” said Williams. 

When he’s not on the court you can usually find Williams reselling shoes, fishing, and hanging out with his girlfriend. 

“If Dewey had a fishing team, I sure would join that,” said Williams.
