  • Neurological Based Chiropractic - At the heart of Neurological Based Chiropractic is the profound recognition that the nervous system is the master controller of the body. It coordinates every function, process, and movement, ensuring optimal communication between the brain and all other systems. When there is interference or misalignment in the spine, it can disrupt this communication, leading to a cascade of health issues and symptoms. Rather than solely addressing surface-level symptoms, this approach delves deep into the root causes of health challenges by focusing on restoring proper nervous system function. Adjustments with an emphasis on achieving spinal alignment, is the process used to create a balance of nerve system function.

  • Holistic Chiropractic - The importance of Holistic Chiropractic lies in its emphasis on proactive health and wellness. By addressing the body's imbalances early on and promoting optimal function, members that regularly receive adjustments comment on experiencing a higher quality of life, enhanced immune function, and increased in vitality. Holistic chiropractic care combines techniques like joint adjustment,  wellness exercise, nutritional advice, and weight loss management to create a wellness plan unique to each individual. One of the most remarkable aspects of Holistic Chiropractic is its versatility and applicability to individuals of all ages and walks of life. From infants to senior citizens, from athletes to those suffering from chronic conditions, this approach caters to everyone's unique needs. • Diversified Chiropractic Technique - The Diversified Chiropractic Technique was developed by Dr. Otto Reinert in the early 20th century, and it has since become one of the most commonly used and widely recognized chiropractic techniques worldwide. Its history dates back to the core principles of chiropractic care, which focus on spinal health, proper alignment, and facilitating the body's natural healing abilities. One of the most commonly practiced techniques, not just by our doctors, but by chiropractors around the world, the Diversified Technique involves manually placing pressure through affected vertebral segments in order to restore proper movement. Rooted in its versatility, effectiveness, and ability to address a wide range of musculoskeletal issues, our members are able to lead healthier, and more active lives through regular adjustments. The Diversified Technique allows our Doctors ensure our members receive the best possible chiropractic experience every visit.

  • Upper Cervical - An upper cervical care technique that aims to fix postural distortions with quick and precise adjustments. It uses a special chiropractic adjustment table designed to support a member when kneeling during the procedure. The Knee Chest Upper Cervical technique's importance lies in its specificity and ability to achieve remarkable results for patients with a wide range of health conditions. By focusing on the crucial upper cervical area, this technique can positively impact various health issues, including migraines, vertigo, neck pain, and neurological disturbances. A time-tested and effective approach in chiropractic care rooted in the wisdom of Dr. B.J. Palmer, its precision in addressing upper cervical misalignments make it an invaluable principal of our chiropractic practice.

  • Knee Chest - During a knee-chest adjustment, the patient kneels on the chiropractic table with their hips flexed at a 90-degree angle and their chest resting on the table's surface. This position allows for greater access to the lumbar and sacral regions of the spine. Like other chiropractic techniques, the knee-chest approach emphasizes a holistic view of health, focusing on the body's natural ability to heal and regulate itself when the spine is properly aligned. Advocates of the knee-chest chiropractic technique have been known to reoport benefits like Improved mobility and flexibility, enhanced nervous system function in the lower spine, and most commonly relief from lower back pain and discomfort.

  • The Webster’s Technique - Developed by Dr. Larry Webster in the 1970s, this technique is specifically designed to address pelvic imbalances in pregnant women, promoting a safer and more comfortable pregnancy while optimizing fetal positioning for birth. The Webster Technique focuses on the sacrum, the triangular bone at the base of the spine, and its relationship with the pelvic structures and ligaments. During pregnancy, hormonal changes and the weight of the growing uterus can lead to pelvic misalignments and imbalances. These misalignments can potentially restrict the space in the pelvis, reducing the room for the baby to move freely, and may contribute to a breech or malpositioned presentation. A gentle chiropractic adjustment that aligns the pelvis and includes a soft tissue release of associated muscle groups. It allows the pelvis to function properly during pregnancy. Webster’s Technique is helpful in providing relief for common lower back and sciatic pains women often experience during pregnacy.

  • Is it safe to go to the Chiropractor if I'm pregnant?

Prenatal Chiropractic adjustments are generally considered safe during pregnancy and there have been no studies linking them to an increased risk of miscarriage, or any other birth defects. Prenatal Chiropractic has shown to help aid in a comfortable pregnancy and to minimize the risk of complications during labor and delivery.

  • Am I too old too go to the Chiropractor?

Senior Chiropractic care has shown to help improve mobility, flexibility, and balance in seniors who regularly recieve adjustments. Investing in chiropractic care can slow down joint degeneration, proper spinal alignment and nerve system function, prevention of premature wear and tear, and even potentially reduce the need for pain medication or other pharmaceutical interventions.

  • Is it normal to experience soreness after a chiropractic adjustment?

When you have an adjustment performed, your body is adjusting to using the correct muscles. This can lead to soreness in the areas your body is accustomed to not engaging.

If you’ve ever tried to fix your posture on your own, you may have noticed soreness and even fatigue from the strength required. When you see a chiropractor, they adjust your spine to its correct position, which helps to improve your posture. This can cause light pain as your body adjusts to the correction. Consistent Chiropractic visits help to stimulated muscle strengthening and mobility in these areas.

History of Chiropractic

Founded by Daniel David Palmer in 1895, Dr. Palmer's pioneering ideas about the nervous system laid the foundation for what would become a distinct healthcare profession focused on the relationship between the spine and the nervous system, we would all come to know as Chiropractic

In September of 1895: D.D. Palmer performed the first chiropractic adjustment on Harvey Lillard, a janitor who had been partially deaf for 17 years after suffering an injury to his spine. Palmer's adjustment, targeting a spinal misalignment, reportedly resulting in Lillard's hearing improvement. This event by many is considered the birth of chiropractic.

Throughout its history, chiropractic care has evolved from a once controversial alternative practice to a recognized and respected healthcare discipline. It emphasizes the body's natural ability to heal and places great importance on the spine's role in overall health. Chiropractic care has been widely used to manage conditions such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, and musculoskeletal issues, while also embracing a holistic approach to wellness.

Bartlett Joshua Palmer, commonly known as B.J. Palmer, was the son of Daniel David Palmer - the founder of chiropractic. B.J. Palmer played a pivotal role in shaping chiropractic into a recognized and respected healthcare profession. His contributions helped solidify the principles of chiropractic care, establish chiropractic education, and advocate for its acceptance within the broader medical community.

Dr. B.J. Palmer expanded upon his father's chiropractic philosophy focusing on emphasizing the importance of the nervous system and the spine's role in health and healing. B.J. further developed the concept of vertebral subluxations (misalignments in the spine that can interfere with nervous system function) and advocated for their correction through chiropractic adjustments.

B.J. Palmer recognized the need for formal education and training in chiropractic. In 1902, he established the Palmer School of Chiropractic (now Palmer College of Chiropractic) in Davenport, Iowa. This institution became the first chiropractic college and played a crucial role in providing standardized education for future chiropractors.
