Head coach – Harry Wright
2021: 2-8
Like the offense, 10 starters return to the Bartlesville defense. The Bruins will show multiple defensive formations to keep offenses guessing. Wright says he wants his defense to be aggressive and force turnovers. Leading this Bartlesville defense is linebacker Ashton Lydon (5-8, 200, Sr.). Wright says Lydon is one of the strongest players on the team and is a team leader. Joining Lydon at linebacker is J.D. Atterberry (5-9, 205, Sr.). Atterberry is a three-sport athlete and probably the strongest athlete, pound for pound, that Bartlesville has. Wright says he also has a good work ethic to match his skills and that could lead to Atterberry being a big-time player for the Bruins. Up front, Gavin Pullins (6-0, 225, Sr.), Adyn Peugh (5-10, 230, Jr.), and Cooper Wood (6-4, 240, Jr.) will look to win the line of scrimmage and make plays in the backfield. Defensive back Noah Darnell (5-11, 165, So.) is a young that coaches have high hopes for this season and in the future.
