Sophomore Ashlynn Taylor is a member of the varsity swim team at Bartlesville High School. Taylor has competed in competitive swim for five years and is excited to see what this team can accomplish this season.
“I think I can say that, as a team, our goal this season is to win the Class 6A High School Swimming Championship and bring home that first place trophy,” said Taylor.
As a team member, Taylor said she loves being around her teammates and the support they give one another in practice and in competition.
“The BHS swim team has a truly amazing atmosphere that makes coming to practice and working hard everyday fun. We are always trying to make each other better and bring each other up. It’s such a unique environment and I’m so thankful that I get to be a part of it. With that said, I believe that we will be able to continue working and getting better through the rest of the season and win state,” said Taylor.
The sophomore loves being around her teammates.
“The thing I love most about being a student-athlete at BHS is that my teammates are also my classmates, allowing for us to be even closer as friends and push each other further in practice,” said Taylor. “The thing I love most about my teammates is the amazing support system we have created amongst each other. We can always depend on one another to help us up when we are down.”
Taylor said it’s difficult to pick a favorite class or teacher, but her French class and teacher, Madame Villines, would be high on the list.
The future Class of 2026 graduate said she would like to pursue a career in Neuropathology after high school. During her free time Taylor said she enjoys drawing, reading, and listening to music.
