Bartlesville’s Eric Harp – Teacher of the Month – Presented by Union State Bank

Eric Harp
Bartlesville Teacher of the Month
Landing in Bartlesville via Coweta High School and the University of Oklahoma, Eric Harp’s first teaching job came in Norman, Oklahoma.

“I started teaching in August 2014 at Longfellow Middle School in Norman, OK,” said Harp.

Now the Teacher of the Month for Bartlesville High School, Harp said he was inspired by a former teacher to enter the profession and make a difference in the young lives of his students.

“It was my AP English teach Kim Caywood, who inspired me to become an educator,” said Harp.

Today, Harp teaches a variety of classes and serves as the sponsor for Student Council.

“I teach AP World History (10th grade), AP Government (12th grade), and Student Council for all grades,” said Harp.

As a member of the Bartlesville community, Harp enjoys seeing students reach their goals and believes BPS is a great place for students to find their path.

“I love getting to know the students and helping plan their future and then seeing and watching them achieve their goals. The community involvement makes Bartlesville a special place. It has a big school small city vibe, so we have the resources of a large district but small community involvement,” said Harp.

In his spare time, you can usually find Mr. Harp catching up on the latest shows, attending OU football games and traveling the world.

Congratulations to Mr. Harp on being selected as this month’s Bartlesville Teacher of the Month!
