Bartlesville High School

Ethan Peterson is a junior at Bartlesville High School and a member of the varsity swim team. Peterson has competed in swim for 10 years and said he loves being part of the Bruin family.

“I love being a part of the Bruin community here in Bartlesville and the tremendous support of our students, parents, and administrators,” said Peterson.

The Bruin swim team has enjoyed a successful season and Peterson said he is proud of their efforts in the pool this year.

“I am super proud of the season our team had and how far we have all come. It’s easy to forget where you started when you are on the finish line of a great season, and I think we all displayed shocking growth from start to finish. The state meet is always an electric experience and brings out the brilliance in the character of all our teammates,” said Peterson.

His respect and admiration for his teammates is clear when you speak to the junior about those who surround him.

“What I love about my teammates is that they all bring something unique to the team that no other can replace. Despite how very different everyone is, we all unite under the banner of commitment, intense effort, and leadership,” said Peterson.

Also a member of the symphonic orchestra, Peterson said he enjoys math and his favorite teacher, Mrs. Anderson. His plans for life after high school will include college, but he is unsure which college he will attend.

“Following high school, I would like to pursue a degree in marine biology. Where that might land me, I don’t know yet but I’m looking forward to it,” said Peterson.

In his free time, Peterson said he enjoys fishing, playing piano, and spending time with his friends and family.
