Bartlesville’s Harrison Clark – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Excel Therapy

There are times when baseball can be complicated, but Bartlesville junior outfielder Harrison Clark has reduced his strategy for success to something much simpler.

“I try to do everything 100 percent,” Clark said. “Whether that be sprinting on and off the field, or staying after games to hit and get extra work in. I want to lead by example in everything I do. If by doing those things I inspire my teammates to do the same, then I’ve done my job.

“I try to have a positive attitude at all times,” Clark continued. “That’s how I define character. I try to have a positive attitude whenever I’m around anyone. I also try to be a positive role model to everyone around me. I want to be that person that anyone can come to and talk with when they are having a rough time. Having good character means a lot to me, and I pride myself in it.”

When he gets some free time, Clark said he likes to spend it by being with his family and helping serve at his church. He said he enjoys cooking and tries to cook dinner for his family every night.

Clark said he fell in love with baseball at a young age, but started playing even younger, when he was just three years old.

“Even though I’m not a pitcher, I really like Trevor Bauer,” Clark said, when asked about role models. “He just has fun playing the game how it’s supposed to be played. I try to have as much fun as possible while still being focused on the game, and the jobs I have to do.”

Clark said he’d like to give a shoutout to his family and friends, who he said have pushed him to be the player and person he is today.
