Bartlesville Mom of the Month
Linda Shuman
The Bartlesville Mom of the Month is Linda Shuman.
The mother of two standout athletes at Bartlesville High School has been involved in her
kid’s activities for year. Brody Shuman, a senior, plays football and throws shotput and
discus for the track & field team. Oldest son Rocky Shuman works for Northwestern
Electric Cooperative as an apprentice and played basketball, football, and baseball for the
Bruins before graduating in 2021.

 “I have always been an active volunteer at each school’s parent support group. I stay
involved in their sports career by attending meetings, ordering and delivering game day
meals, cooking for the players, organizing fundraisers, and I have served on many planning
committees usually as the Treasurer as my degree is in accounting,” said Shuman. “I enjoy
getting to know the teachers/coaches, teammates and all of their families.”
Shuman said she feels it’s important for parents to get involved.
“I want to show my kids that I support them in everything they do. It has always been very
important for me to keep my kids active with the idea that keeping them busy will keep
them out of trouble, but I volunteer to make sure I am staying connected and present in my
child’s life,” said Shuman.
The Calvin High School graduate said the Bartlesville Public Schools system is a great place
for students to attend.
“Bartlesville students are blessed with a great group of administrators, coaches, and
teachers with so many academic opportunities,” said Shuman.
In their free time, the Shuman family enjoys family vacations, snow skiing in the mountains
or resting on the beach.
