Bartlesville’s Millie Butler – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Skyway Honda

With her senior year winding down, Millie Butler reflects back on her life, both as a student and as an athlete. She has had a number of people that have been influential in her becoming the person that she is, but there are a few that have been key.

“The biggest role models in my life are my parents,” she said. “Mainly because their love and support have shaped me into the person I am today. I admire how hardworking and giving they are. One of the biggest influences in my life has been Jamie Peterson. While he was my coach he would constantly pour into all of us girls with love and knowledge. Not only did he impact my life through soccer but also influenced my character.”

Butler is a student at Bartlesville High School, where she plays soccer for the Lady Bruins.

She is also a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council. She also plays for the NEOFC 04 competitive soccer team.

There have been many hours spent practicing and perfecting her craft, but Millie says that her passion for soccer is what helps her stay focused.

“It has taken great dedication, persistence, commitment, and confidence in order to be successful and reach my goals,” she said. “I am motivated by the love I have for the game of soccer. I enjoy the competitiveness and constant learning that soccer requires in order to be successful.”

Butler has enjoyed some memorable moments during her soccer career, but she knows what her favorite memory is. “The highlight of my high school soccer career is being the captain of the Lady Bruin varsity team,” she stated. “I am very honored to be labeled as captain and strive to selflessly lead my team so that we can reach and surpass our goals.”

Wearing the Lady Bruin uniform is more than just something to do for Millie, it is instead something that she does not take lightly.

“To be able to represent Bartlesville through soccer is a huge honor,” she says. “I appreciate the support that the community pours into our program and players.”

When it comes to her social media, Butler has one person in particular whom she enjoys keeping up with. “My favorite person that I follow on social media is Sadie Robertson because I enjoy listening to her podcasts and think that she has good insight about the word of God.”
