Bartlesville’s Riley Duong – Basketball Spotlight – Presented by Moxie On Second

Riley Duong is looking to step into a bigger role on the basketball court this upcoming season at Bartlesville.

Duong, a 5-foot-11 senior combo guard and VYPE Top 100 nominee for Bruins’ head coach Clent Stewart, will be counted on as a primary scorer.

“He will be a senior leader and one of the better shooters in the district,” Stewart said. “This year he will assume the role of playmaker and primary scorer.”

Duong was at his best over Bartlesville’s final 10 games last season as a junior, shooting 43 percent from 3-point territory.

“My goal this year is to step into a bigger role of being a leader, win games as a team, and also not take basketball for granted and enjoy every moment,” said Duong, who says he is starting to see the work he puts in pay off.

“I feel I improved the most on attacking the rim and staying aggressive where last season I was more of just a shooter. My biggest strength is my shooting but also my ability to make plays.”

Duong has been the most influenced by his brothers.

“They are the reason why I started playing basketball, so everything I do is for them,” he said.

Following high school, Duong wants to continue his hoops career at the next level and major in engineering.
