Coach: Tug Brinker
20-21 Record: 9-8
With four returning starters and several bench players back for Caney Valley, the Trojans will have plenty of depth. Daniel Barham (6-3) is a big forward that averaged 20.0 points per game last season. “Daniel is athletic and shoots well,” says head coach Tug Brinker. “He plays hard and will need to be a force inside this year.” Bryer Cramer (5-8) is a good shooter and ball handler. Brinker says Cramer can take over a game and drives well. Tate Lingan is a guy that does a lot of little things for Caney Valley. “Tate rebounds, hustles, and works hard in practice,” says Brinker. “He is a leader who’s not afraid to do what you tell him to do.” Ethan Brown is an underclassman that should contribute for Caney Valley. “Ethan is a good ball handler and good shooter,” says Brinker. “He doesn’t get rattled and is a smart kid that understands the game.” Braden Peckham (6-3) and Rocky Hester (5-8) are also expected to contribute for Caney Valley.

Coach: Deric Longan
20-21 Record: 4-12
With four returning starters from last year’s squad, Caney Valley head coach Deric Longan is looking forward to this season. “We have pretty good size and speed returning,” says Longan. “We had a very productive summer, and we are excited about the upcoming season.” Sammi Gilbreath (5-10, Jr.) is Caney Valley’s top returner after averaging 7.3 points and 7.0 rebounds from last year. “Sammi is an athletic player who led our team in scoring and rebounding a year ago.” Jade Upton (5-8, Jr.) is back after averaging 8.9 points and 4.2 rebounds a year ago. Chloe Scherman (6-0, So.) is a big presence in the middle of the Caney Valley defense that averaged 2.6 blocks per game last year. Jill Emery (5-9, Sr.) will provide the senior leadership for the Lady Trojans. “Jill’s stats won’t wow you,” says Longan. “But her effort and passion are unquestionable.” Jaci Sumner (5-5, Jr.) and Libby Thompson (So.) will also be asked to contribute for Caney Valley this season.
