Dewey Bulldoggers Boys Basketball Preview – Presented by Excel Therapy

Clayton Evans

BOYS

Coach: Lance Knight

21-22 Record: 13-12

Head coach Lance Knight enters his 22nd year at the helm of the Dewey Bulldoggers basketball program with a team full of upperclassmen.

Jace Williams (6-0, Jr.) averaged 8.0 points per game a season ago and will be in command of the offense from the point guard position this year. Williams is a two-year starter and floor commander and with a high basketball IQ. He understands what it takes to be a leader on and off the court and is always working to get his teammates involved and in the rhythm of the offensive flow.

Colby Miller (6-1, Sr.) averaged 10.0 points per game last year and has been a top player in Dewey since junior high. Miller is a multi-sport athlete and a true role model for teammates and younger players in the area. He is athletic and excels on both ends of the court and always gives full effort.

Jeremiah Highsmith (6-6, Sr.) is the man in the post for the Bulldoggers. Although he doesn’t tower over every opponent, he plays bigger than his height and knows how to make the most of his size, bullying opponents down low in the paint and snatching boards off the glass.

Ryder Muninger (6-2, Fr.) impressed coaches over the summer and is expected to make an impact as a freshman. Muninger has the size to play on the wing and shoots the ball well from behind the arc and spaces the floor on offense.

Clayton Evans (6-0, Sr.) Zaiden Masters (6-2, Jr.), Jake VanAtta (6-0, Sr.), and Zane Griggs (6-2, Jr.) all return as upperclassmen that will provide valuable leadership and a veteran presence this season. Their contributions will be apparent and relied upon throughout the year as they hold the team accountable on and off the court in games and practices.
