Dewey’s Hunter Perrier – FFA Spotlight Presented by Oklahoma Ag Credit

Dewey High School senior and soon-to-be graduate, Hunter Perrier has been a member of the local FFA chapter for several years. Perrier said it’s been one of the highlights of his high school experience.

“I’ve been in FFA for five years, but I started showing cattle in 4-H when I was eight,” said Perrier. “I enjoy going to livestock shows and meeting new people along the way.”

Also a member of the varsity basketball team, Perrier said being part of the team is like having another family.

“This year in basketball, I feel we became more of a family than a team and we could always count on each other for great memories,” said Perrier. “I also ran cross country and track.”

Perrier said there are many reasons for someone to join FFA.

“I show cattle, specifically heifers and compete in livestock judging,” said Perrier. “I would just say go for it. It’s a great program that can open up many doors to a successful future.”

Perrier said he plans to attend Redlands Community College on a livestock judging scholarship for two years before going to Oklahoma State University for an Ag business degree.

The senior said he will always the great moments at Dewey High School. “There are so many memories but beating Nowata in a buzzer beater this year will be a highlight for a long time,” said Perrier.
