Hi, what are you looking for?

Bartlesville

Getting to know Bartlesville baseball player Niklas Johnson – Presented by City Church

VYPE: What are your goals for this season?

Niklas: My goals for this season are to definitely help my team to a state championship and to bring home that state title to our school.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Niklas: Baseball has taught me it’s ok to fail. The best hitters fail 7/10 times and they are considered the greatest of all time. It’s what you do after you fail that matters.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Niklas: My favorite teacher is definitely Mrs. Garrett, my ninth grade English teacher. She showed me the way to follow through with your aspirations by setting up a plan to achieve them.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Nicklas: My dad is someone who definitely inspires me. He works everyday from 9-6 and still finds time to take me to the field or go over film on his computer so that I can continue to improve in the game of baseball.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Niklas: I think the teammate that had left the biggest impression on me was Braedan Winters. He was a big dude, but he still found ways to do the little things right. He took every rep in practice like it was in a game.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Niklas: Favorite thing about being on a team is definitely the brotherhood. We laugh and joke around and just have a good time, but when it comes to games we all lock in and play for each other.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Niklas: There is only one right answer on the place for summer. Baseball field in Los Angeles California, watching the Los Angeles Angels play. I would take my family and the baseball team with me on that trip just to watch baseball.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Niklas: I think the reason I am so passionate about baseball is because I was raised into it. Every weekend I would be at the baseball field with my brother just throwing bp to each other.

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

Niklas: I would like to thank the entire baseball community in Bartlesville who helped me become the player and the man I am today. I would also like to thank my family for supporting me in all the ups and downs of the game of baseball.
