Coach: Lee Ott
20-21 Record: 25-2
After a 25-win season, the level of excitement for Cougar basketball is at an all-time high. Head coach Lee Ott returns a solid nucleus of players, which could mean this team is ready to compete for the big prize. “We’re a senior heavy team with four juniors that complement the seniors well,” said coach Ott. “We should be an energic, fun team to watch and coach.” Kade Hollingshed (6-1, Sr.) is one of two returning starters to the court for the Cougars. Hollingshed shot 43.5 percent from three-point land and hit the century mark for assists. Bryce Gillespie (6-2, Sr.) is another guard and an athletic player to watch. Tristan Davis (6-1, Sr.) missed last season due to the transfer rule, but he is ready to bring his intensity and energy to the court this season.
Jaiden Kennard (6-3, Sr.) came off the bench last year and will look to contribute in a big way this season. Baylor Nash (6-3, Sr.) started last season and is probably the best defender on the team. Nash also has a strong presence around the boards. Kaide Hill (5-11, Jr.) is a smart guard who shoots the ball very well. Austin Harris (5-11, Jr.) is a high-energy player who is relentless on the defensive end. Nick Jackson (5-9, Jr.) is a threat to hit the deep ball and Levi Krieder (6-2, Jr.) is a great rebounder and defensive player. Jayden Anderson (6-3, Sr.) is a blue-collar type of player and a true grinder on the court. Also look for Connor Pierce (Fr.) who will see time on varsity this season and Jaren Bottoms is the type of player every coach wants on their team.
