Pawhuska’s Clayton Evans – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Excel Therapy

By Chance Burk

Golf is one of the many sports that demands hard work and dedication to be successful. For Clayton Evans, hard work and dedication are second nature.

Clayton is a senior at Pawhuska High School. Although his primary sport is golf, he is also part of his high school basketball and cross-country teams. He loves participating in everything he can and competes to be the best.

“One thing that motivates me is the dedication it takes to be the best at whatever sport I play.” said Clayton.

Hard work and dedication are some of the many necessary qualities for being successful, not just in sports but also in life. One of the many qualities that Clayton has that makes him stand out is that he loves being challenged.

“The thing that makes me love golf is the fact that not anybody can just go out and hit a club. It takes a lot of practice, skill, and hard work to get to where you want to be,” said Clayton.

Aside from sports, faith and family are also a big part of Clayton’s life and another area that he dedicates himself to. He attends Dewey First Baptist and is a part of the youth group there. He loves the speakers and leaders at the church and finds great joy in living a life of faith.

“I love going to church and worshipping,” said Clayton.

Family is another significant part of Clayton’s life.

“They all support me and love me in anything I do,” said Clayton, but, “my mom and dad are definitely my number one supporters.”

Due to Clayton’s work ethic, he is able to find success in multiple areas. Outside of golf, Clayton finds success in the classroom and in the work field. Clayton loves welding and hopes to make a career out of it. The hard work and dedication that Clayton has applied to sports have taught him how to work hard and succeed in every part of life. He believes that you should always fully dedicate yourself to whatever you do and you will find success.
