Ketchum’s Hannah Sikes – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By BancFirst Ketchum

Hannah Sikes is a mutlisport athlete at Ketchum High School. She spends a lot of time working on her game and preparing to compete and she says that while she puts in the work, she has also has had some people that have had a big influence on her as well.

“It’s taken a lot more than people would think,” Sikes said. “Staying late at night taking grounders and pop flies, dropping balls, being on and off for games or practice. I have had some great people in my life. My biggest role model is my mom and dad. They taught me everything as a child. Mainly to always go 100% and never give up. Also, all of my coaches, they are constantly wanting me to be a better athlete for myself.”

Sikes, who is a junior, plays softball, basketball, runs track, and is a part of the cheer team. As a member of multiple sports teams, Hannah plays alongside a number of athletes. While she enjoys them all, there are a couple that stand out to her.

“I have some great teammates,” she said. “Addy Calvert is the one I enjoy going up against the most at practice. We both are constantly on each other and making each other better. Competing against each other really helps during games. The least appreciated person on our team is honestly Kaydon Robertson. She is our pitcher and people think it’s so easy but it is so much more than that. She fights through her pain so much trying so hard for our team.”

When she finds herself with some down time, Hannah enjoys catching up on social media and she says that her favorite account to follow is a local collegiate program.

“One of my favorite people to follow on social media is honestly OSU softball,” she stated. “They constantly show what they are doing, all of the updates, stats, etc. It feels like you’re just right there with the team and I hope I could reach that one day.”
