GIRLS
Coach: Terry Sweeney
21-22 Record: 18-9
After advancing to the area tournament last season, the Lady Pirates are looking for
a deeper playoff run this season. They bring back a lot of players that saw playing time last year and head coach Terry Sweeney knows that will be a benefit to her team. “We bring back our leading scorer from last season, Bailey Wiggins,” Sweeney said. “She averaged 12.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 22 blocks, and 111 steals. With her, we have three starters returning, four reserves with a lot of varsity experience, and
two outstanding freshmen that will contribute in a big way. We will be bigger and better inside this year playing with some really good shooters. We are really excited about this group of girls, they are coachable, work hard, and play together and this team is motivated for an outstanding season.” Wiggins (5-9, Sr.) is an outstanding basketball player that will help lead her team to a successful season. Though she is
listed as a shooting guard, she has much more to offer. She is a scorer and she is a
defensive player that has good hands, anticipates well, and causes havoc as well
as good timing for blocking shots. Adrianne Fine (5-7, Sr.) and Tierra Williams (5-9, Sr.) are outstanding athletes and great team players. Fine is an effective ball- handler
that’s a sharpshooter and can also attack the rim, while Williams is a midrange shooter that can dominate the boards and finish. Hannah Bond (6-1, Fr.) is an athletic, strong player in the paint who can run the floor, crash the boards, score around the basket and also step outside. A do-it-all type of player, Claire Hooker (5-9, Fr.) is a sharp shooter that is lethal from beyond the arc. Other Lady Pirates to watch
out for this season will be Chloe Silka (5-6, Jr.), Sloane Sweeney (5-6, Jr.), Kylie Bird (5-8, So.), Allie Hendrickson (5-7, Jr.), Kamry Wilkinson (5-10, So.), Henley Pickup (5-5, So.), Carly Morrison (5-5, So.), Kaylee Blackbear (5-4, Jr.), and Tatum Stokes (5-10, Fr.).
