Salina Wildcats Boys Basketball Preview – Presented By Red Crown Credit Union

BOYS
Coach: Ty Thompson
21-22 Record: 12-10
Last season the Wildcats were not able to advance out of the regional round of the playoffs. But as they enter a new season, they are wiping the slate clean and working hard to build off last year. Head coach Ty Thompson says that he likes the makeup of his team and while they have a tough schedule, it will help prepare them. “We have a good mix of youth and older guys on our team that gel well together,” he said. “We are in a tough conference that will make this team battle-tested come playoff time.

Overall, I am excited about this upcoming season.” Boomer Panther is back this season and will be a leader among his teammates on and off the court. He will look to help lead the Wildcats to a successful season. Joining Panther will be Conner Johnson, who is an allaround outstanding player. He works hard and pulls his own weight, but also does a good job of being there for his teammates. While he is a younger player on the team, Jaron Bailey is looking to make big contributions to the team this season. He has put in a lot of hard work in the offseason and should see
an increase in production this year. Trayce Guy is the epitome of a team player. The things he does to help the team do not always show up on the stat sheet at the end of the game. The assistant coaches this season are LoGun Saiz and Tyler Hurry.
