Head Coach – Travis East

2021: 11-2

With nine starters back on defense, coach East expects his guys to be hitting on all cylinders early in the season. Leading the way is outside linebacker Reese Roller (6-0, 210, Sr.). Roller amassed 105 tackles, 33 for loss and 15 sacks. Inside linebacker Tripp Fuller (6-2, 220, Sr.) had similar numbers with 128 tackles, 12 for loss and four sacks. Drache Marveggio (5-8, 160, Sr.) is another very productive linebacker for the Cardinals. Marveggio recorded 103 tackles, 17 for loss and two sacks as a junior. Yale Gray (6-2, 250, Sr.) starts on the line where he made 34 tackles last season. Joining Gray up front at end is senior Luke Zaferes (6-0, 210). Zaferes accounted for 53 tackles and two sacks last season. “We are a multiple front defense that uses many different coverages. We are an aggressive defense, and we have radical pursuit to the football,” said coach East. This season the coaching staff includes Zach Gray, Bobby Jones, Ron Fuller, Jeremy Gray, Jake Everett, Heath Abercromie and Mike Roller.
