Athletes work hard in order to achieve the goals that they have set for themselves. For some, the goals could be smaller while for others the goals could be big and life changing. Either way, there is an amount of work that is required. Collin Keith says that the goals are what motivates him.
“I get up early every morning and head to the fieldhouse and workout,” he said. “There are days it may be tough, or I may want to take a day off, but just thinking that every time I do something beneficial, I am one step closer to reaching my goals.”
As a sophomore at Afton High School, Collin is a multisport athlete for the Eagles. He competes in baseball, basketball, football, track, and powerlifting. As a member of the various teams, he has experienced some great games and competitions. Keith says that out of all of them, there is one that he considers his favorite.
“The highlight moment of my career would have to be when we beat Fairland during basketball season,” he recalled. “Not only did we beat them at our place during the regular season, but we also beat them in the postseason at regionals. Fairland is our biggest rival, so anytime we beat them that is always a great thing.”
Collin has grown into an outstanding athlete on the field and a great person off the field. He says that he has had great examples to look up to that helped shape who he has become.
“I have had some really good role models to look up to,” he said. “My grandad Randy Gardner, my uncle Zach Gardner, and my dad Kris Keith have all had a huge impact on my life.”
When he is not competing, Collin enjoys watching sports on television and live.
“I enjoy watching all of Oklahoma State University athletics anytime I have the opportunity to.”
Along with his sports, Keith is also a member of the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America organization as well as the National Honor Society.
