Barnsdall Cheer – Team Spotlight – Presented By JK Feed Store

Coming into the 2021-22 school year, Barnsdall High School head coach Kim Tafoya was excited to see what this squad could accomplish. Her enthusiasm is apparent when she talks about the members of her team.

“The 2021-2022 Barnsdall High School cheer team this year is young but has lots of talent,” said coach Tafoya. “We have three senior cheerleaders and two of them are entering their second year to cheer and the third one is in her first year to cheer. I have six sophomores two of which have never cheered. We have three freshmen. I love that at Barnsdall High School we take in all who want to cheer and let them and work with them to be the best cheerleader that they can be.”

One of the sophomores coach Tafoya mentioned is Sydney Galligher. Galligher has developed into a leader on and off the floor for Barnsdall.

Sydney is just a sophomore, but she is becoming an amazing leader on the cheer squad. She is always up for helping the junior high squad and all of the new girls learn the cheers and dances. She is a huge help in running a great cheer program, she can cheer, knows the cheers, can count the dances, and can help all the other girls to learn them,” said coach Tafoya.

Emma Smith and Lizzie Lay are members to watch this season as well. Coach Tafoya also pointed out the Skylee Carpenter and Chloe Hill have worked hard this season to become valuable team members, has have the rest of the squad.

For Barnsdall the season has arrived, and they are proud to lead the students, fans and parents in cheers and perform routines that are sure to get the Barnsdall faithful on their feet.
