Krew Culver
Jay High School
The Jay Bulldogs hosted their track meet in early April and the boys placed 2nd overall and continue to improve on their times. One athlete looing to finish this season strong is Krew Culver. Culver is a three-sport athlete for Jay High School and has competed in track since elementary school.
“I have run track since sixth grade. This season I am in the 4×100 relay, 4×800 relay, open 400-meters, and the 4×400 relay,” said Culver.
Having the opportunity to compete is one thing he loves about being a student-athlete at JHS.
“I enjoy showing my talent and the ability I’m blessed with,” said Culver.
The football and basketball player said his teammates are always supportive and he can count on them to pick him up and push one another to get better.
“I love it, I like that we push each other past our limits, and we finish what we start,” said Culver.
One athlete Culver said everyone should watch is Orion Tsosie, who is competing in multiple events for the Bulldogs. Another team member is Krew’s brother Kreed.
“My brother try’s to be the funny one but really, I’m the serious runner, doesn’t matter if it’s a track meet or not I’m going to be running hard and really no one enjoys running,” said Culver. Making the state track meet last season has been the highlight of his track career thus far. Culver said he is looking forward to graduating and he plans to learn a trade in a field and start his professional career.
Culver and the Jay Bulldogs will wrap up the 2024 track season and turn their attention to regionals and making the state track meet again this season.
