Commerce Tigers Girls Basketball Preview – Presented by NEO Realty Group

Coach: Brooke Jackson
20-21 Record: 8-16

Things are starting to come together in Commerce as head coach Brooke Jackson looks to field a team with good experience and a desire to put more W’s in the win column. “We have six returning players that have all had a ton of varsity playing time, plus two freshmen that have the opportunity to be impact players,” said coach Jackson. “We will be fast, athletic and plan to get the ball up and down the floor. We are excited to continue to build on our success from the summer.” Giselle Gutierrez (5-5, Sr.) is a four-year starter and a great offensive player. She brings toughness to the team and has worked hard to improve her penetration game.

Katie Convirs (5-6, Sr.) may not have a ton of varsity experience, but she has the opportunity to show what she can do this year. Baylee King (5-4, Jr.) suffered through an injury last season, but has returned in a slightly different role. Look for King to be one of the difference makers for Commerce. Katy Crawford (5-11, Jr.) will play forward where her movement and range will help her be successful this season. Also look for Arianna Rodriguez (5-6, Jr.) who is a slasher and a good shooter. Other players to watch include Maudie Millhollin (5-8, Jr.), Raegan Wilson (5-5, Jr.), Laci Brough (5-4, Fr.) and Yadira Herrera (5-8, Fr.). All four players have a shot at seeing significant time this season.
