Grant Lollar is currently playing baseball for Fairland High School in his junior season where he plays catcher and said he loves playing with this group of guys.
“What I love most about my team and teammates is we are always lifting each other up,” said Lollar.
Also a basketball player, Lollar knows what hard work can do for you as an individual and a team. In the eighth grade Lollar, with encouragement from his parents, decided to join the FFA. As a member of the Fairland High School FFA chapter, Lollar has enjoyed all of the opportunities that come with being a member. From the travel and the opportunities to meet new people, it didn’t take long for Lollar to find what he loves doing.
“What I enjoy are the hands-on projects and activities,” said Lollar. “I’m currently involved in skeet shooting and welding competitions as well as judging competitions.”
Also a member of National Honor Society, Lollar stays focused on his grades and his responsibilities in the classroom.
Being a member of the FFA chapter has opened doors for Lollar and continues to provide him with an outlet for challenging himself, similar to what he gets in athletics. The junior said the formula for having a successful career in FFA is an easy one.
“FFA is a lot of fun and there are a lot of things to do and choose from. Work hard and have a good mentality and you won’t go wrong,” said Lollar.
As a student-athlete, Lollar said there has been one person who has been there to push him when he needed a push and to pick him up when he needed a hand.
“The biggest influence in my life is my dad because he always gives me advice and has helped me grow and prosper,” said Lollar.
