Teammates are an important part of any team. They are the ones that you compete alongside when you are on teh field or court and you have to work together in order to get the victory. Justin Johnson is a multisport athlete at Ketchum High Schools and he says that he has one teammate in particular that has helped him become better.
“I would say I enjoy working against Rowdy Mullin the most in practice,” Johnson said. “We both handle it really well and we like to compete so it always makes for a good defensive battle when we go against each other.”
Justin is a sophomore and he plays football, basketball, and baseball for the Warriors. Every time he steps on to the field or court, he has one thought that goes through his mind and helps keep his eye on the prize.
“My biggest motivation is the fear of being average,” he said. “Not just in sports but also in life. I want to be my best at anything I try my hand at.”
As an athlete, there are moments that can make an impact on your life. Though these are not always the victorious moments, they are important nonetheless. For Johnson, a trip to the regional tournament gave him a special memory.
“The highlight of my career so far has been going to regionals and ending up with a 4-7 record in the tournament,” he stated. “Although we only came out on top in one of our three games, it was still an amazing experience.”
Johnson has had a number of people that have been a part of his life and have made an impact on him. But out of all of them, he says that there are two people that made the biggest impact.
“My parents are some of the biggest role models in my life because they always work hard and always push me to my limits.”
When Justin is not practicing or playing sports or catching up on school work, he enjoys looking at social media. And he has one follow in particular that he enjoys.
“My favorite person to follow on social media has to be the Mentality. They post quotes and stuff everyday that help me push myself to become a bigger and better person.”
