Football is a sport that requires tenacity and determination. 

Grove High School sophomore Jackson Gain can be considered a football veteran, having played the sport for eight years.

In terms of what Jackson considers the most important part of the game, Jackson stated, “Being able to work with my teammates to become a successful team.”

A favorite memory, regarding playing football, occurred many years ago. Jackson reminisces, “In 5th grade we were in a playoff game for our INFC team, and we had less than a minute with no timeouts to score a touchdown. I completed 5 passes with the final one being the game winning touchdown to my twin brother, Jacob.”

When it comes to who has inspired Jackson the most, there are 3 individuals that made the list. 

Brayden stated, “Carson Trimble, Hagen Hacker, and my older brother, Caden Gain, have influenced me the most. They have not only taught me a lot of lessons on how to improve myself as a player, but to also be a leader for my team.”

Peyton Manning is my favorite professional athlete. He was a legend on the field and an inspiration to become better. He had a great work ethic and was a smart player on the field. I was able to attend his camp and personally meet him and be coached by him.”

In terms of academics, Jackson proclaimed, “My favorite subject is Math. I appreciate how there is no subjectivity. The answer is either right or wrong.”

After high school, Jackson plans on pursuing higher education, and proclaimed, “I would love to earn a scholarship to play football at the University of Arkansas or attend the Air Force Academy and play football for them.”

Besides football, Jackson has many other interests, Jackson stated, “I also like to compete in basketball and baseball when those sports are in season. I like to lift weights and put in extra work into whatever sport I am participating in. I also like to spend quality time with family and friends and watch movies.”
