BOYS
Coach: Bob Walters
21-22 Record: 7-16
The Owls are coming off of a rough season a year ago that saw them register just seven wins on the season. But as they come into the new season, they bring excitement and potential.
Bob Walters is the head coach of the team and he says that he likes the makeup of his squad and is excited to see how the season plays out.
“We return four starters from last year,” he stated. “And we also added a great freshman class with a lot of talent, size, and quickness. I am ready to see what we do this season.”
A leader on the team will be Markeen Webb (5-10, So.). He is a very good player with all the skills to become really good once he gets older.
One of the younger players expected to step up is Carson Schertz (6-2, Fr.). He is a very good player with size and athleticism that can dunk the ball as a freshman and shoot, as well as handle the ball.
Taking care of things down low will be Boone Perryman (5-11, Sr.), who averaged six points and five rebounds a season ago.
Another player that will look to increase his production this year is Cason Rentfrow (5-9, Jr.). Last season he had a three- point, two assist, and two rebound average.
Josia Bird (5-9, Sr.), Jalen Riggs (6-2, Sr.), Colt Kinsey (5-8, Fr.), Caine Bowers (5-8, Fr.), Blake Murry (5-8, Fr.), Logan Sparks (5-7, Fr.), Xavier Gaston (5-9, So.), Keaton Holman (5-8, Fr.), and Sam Lollar (5-10, Sr.) are others to watch.
The assistant coaches this season are Keenan Webb and Josh Schertz.
