Bartlesville’s Angelina Greenhoward – Volleyball Spotlight – Presented by Hall of Fame Sponsor Keller Williams Realty

Being vocal on the volleyball court is important for Bartlesville’s Angelina Greenhoward. Greenhoward, a senior for the Bruins, has worked on that aspect of her game.

“I feel like I’ve improved on my talking. On the court, I’m making sure I’m always talking and being vocal to my teammates and giving positive feedback,” she said.

The Bruins, with the help of Greenhoward, were ranked 11th in Class 6A with a record of 18-9 through Sept. 21.

“No matter how bad or how good I’m doing in a game or in practice, I’m always beingpositive and supportive to my teammates,” Greenhoward said. “As a team, we want to get to the single digit ranking.

We’ve been working so hard in and out of practice, and I know we’ve got this.”

Greenhoward says her biggest influence comes from one of her own teammates.

“Emry Brown is definitely my biggest influence. She’s always there for me whether it’s inside or outside of volleyball,” she said. “She’s always reminding me to keep my head up, have a smile on my face and to just be me. She’s my biggest hype man and the best, best friend anyone can ask for. I’m so thankful to have her in my life.”

But connecting with all of her teammates has been her biggest priority.

“Really connecting with everyone on the team. My goal was to really get to bond with everyone and that goal was definitely achieved,” she said. “This is the best group of people that I have ever been with in the years I’ve been playing volleyball. I love being close with all of these wonderful people and I really don’t want to leave any of them.”

Greenhoward says she’s unsure on what her plans are following high school, but she wants to go into motivational public speaking or possibly be involved with a singing career. She says making the right decisions in life is what she values the most.

“My achievements life wise are always making the right decisions. In this generation now, it’s so easy to fall into something bad or into peer pressure. I’m so glad I don’t fall into those things or make those bad decisions,” Greenhoward said.
