Wyandotte Area Preview – Football 2021 – Presented By Tristate Insurance

WYANDOTTE BEARS
Coach – DYLAN TERRY

OFFENSE
In his second year at the school, head coach Dylan Terry believes his young team can compete and continue to build the Wyandotte football program. On offense, five starters return for the Bears. Brady Lofland (6-0, 170, So.) started at quarterback as a freshman, and will continue to run the Bears offense as a sophomore. Daxtor Baker (5-10, 165, Sr.) will play running back for Wyandotte and has the capability and potential to have a breakout season. Brayden Sanders (5-9, 180, Jr.) will share snaps with Baker at the running back position, looking to add to his successes on the field as a sophomore. Wide receivers Gavin Kihenia (5-11, 140, Sr.) and Isaiah Wallin (5-10, 170, So.) will be big targets for the Bears offense and can expect to get more touches this season. On the line is David Carver (6-0, 190, Sr.) who comes back with field experience that the Bears offensive line lacks, but the coaching staff has confidence in Carver as a leader. The offense will look to run a pro style offense, running multiple formations and utilizing shifts and motions while balancing the run and pass game.

DEFENSE
Stopping the run is the Bears’ defensive philosophy. Lofland and Kihenia will line up at cornerback, both having the quickness and hands to disrupt opposing teams. At defensive end, Sanders and Carver return after both starting a year ago and combining for nearly 50 tackles. Baker lines up at linebacker, alongside Clayton Pugh (5-11, 175, Sr.). Pugh and Baker led the team in tackles last season and look to add to that in the upcoming season. The Bears have high hopes for this team, starting with defense. People can expect to see a much better defense in the 2021 season.
