Dewey Football Preview – Presented By Jaron Leach of Shelter Insurance

DEWEY BULLDOGGERS

Coach – TRENT TURNER

OFFENSE

Dewey will be young at a few positions, but they do return four starters on offense including quarterback Tate Lewis (5-11, 165, Sr.). Last season Lewis threw for 1,613 yards and 14 touchdowns completing 132 of 150 attempts. Dallas Mulliken (6-1, 170, Sr.) returns at wide receiver where he had 36 receptions for 403 yards and four scores. Joacob Mouser (6-4, 180, Sr.) is another big target in the passing game. Mouser had 25 catches for 203 yards and three touchdowns. Justin Lindley (6-2, 240, Sr.) starts on the offensive line with Andrew Parrett (6-2, 240, Jr.). “We will be in 10 personnel most of the time,” said Turner. “We will try to get our skill guys in space and create 1-on-1 opportunities.” Colby Miller (5-11, 165, Jr.) will get a taste of offense this season at wide receiver after spending last year on the defensive side of the ball.

DEFENSE

“We will base out of a 3-3-5 this year,” said Turner. “We will try to be extremely aggressive and play as fast as possible.” Trenton Munninger (5-11, 160, Jr.) is one corner the team is looking to as a shut-down corner. His speed and ability to recover is crucial for Dewey. Dixon Adams (5-10, 150, Jr.) and Gabe Villanueva (5-10, 165, So.) help shore up the secondary which may be the strength of the defense. Adams has been called the hardest worker on the team. Gavin Lackey (6-1, 165, Jr.) is another corner in that secondary looking to create a no-fly zone this season. Jasiel Salinas (5-10, 175, So.) is a young but talented linebacker the coaching staff is looking forward to seeing him develop this season. Another sophomore will anchor the defensive line in Braden Garrison (5-11, 235, So.). Garrison will likely go both ways this season after spending last year playing mostly scout team.
