9 Q’s with Commerce’s Haven Ragsdale – Presented by Trench Brothers Graphics

VYPE: Who is your favorite person you follow on social media?

Haven: My favorite person I follow on social media is probably MaxPreps. And also Michael Turk because he posts inspirational videos about being a Christian athlete.

VYPE: What does it mean to you to represent your school and community when you play?

Haven: It means a lot to have the opportunity to play for people that love the game of softball and love our school. 

VYPE: Which teammate do you enjoy working against the most with in practice?

Haven: Daneysi Zamarripa. She’s always working hard in practice yet having fun. We both know we can work hard and push each-other without getting upset.

VYPE: Is there an opponent that you enjoy beating the most? Why?

Haven: I enjoy beating my travel friends. Even if we don’t beat them I enjoy playing them in general. It’s always fun when they will be up to bat and I’m pitching and we both just smile. Creates memories outside of travel softball.

VYPE: What has been the highlight moment of your career?

Haven: The highlight of my career is when I struck out Erica Shertz.  It Was my freshman year and I don’t think I couldn’t have been more nervous knowing she was committed to D1. But I did it and it’s something I will always remember. That’s when I gained my confidence

VYPE: What has it taken to be successful in your sports?

Haven: It has taken dedication and commitment. Softball has become a BIG part in my life and something I want to make a career out of. It has Taken plenty of good, bad, and stressful practices. It has also taken me having to learn how to have a stable championship mindset. 

VYPE: What teacher has had the biggest impact on your life?

Haven: Brooke Jackson. She’s not only a teacher but a wonderful coach and someone I enjoy playing for every day.

VYPE: Who are some of your biggest influences or role models?

Haven: My biggest influencers/ role models are NiJaree Canady, Jayda Coleman, My Grandpa, Drew Phillips, and Devyn Netts! 

VYPE: What motivates you?

Haven: Seeing players at the college level break records and have so much fun on the field. Also what motivates me is being my own competition and pushing myself to be better every day.
