9 Q’s with Grove’s Nora Sheffield – Presented by EyeCare of Grand Lake

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to?

Nora: I look up to Emily Cole, a collegiate cross country and track athlete at Duke University. She encourages prioritizing nutrition, mental health, and muscle recovery throughout each season and really motivates me to look at running as an outlet for joy rather than a responsibility or difficult workout.

VYPE: Who inspires you?

Nora: My Dad inspires me so much! He is one of the most hard working and determined people that I have ever met and is constantly modeling a strong work ethic for his family.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?

Nora: This year, Jase McAbee has left the biggest impression on me. His determination and effort is so inspiring and he sets the perfect example of dedication and passion for his sport.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

Nora: Some of the best advice that has ever been given to me is that “The greatest gift that you can give anyone is a healthy you. The more that you are whole in Christ, then you are not going to demand from other people what only Christ can give you.” This advice has definitely changed my mindset in so many ways!

VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing?

Nora: My favorite memory of running XC is getting to go on team jogs around town. We would always find somewhere new to get our miles in.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?

Nora: My favorite thing about representing my high school as an athlete is contributing to the community coming together as a family in excitement and anticipation to support its  student athletes.

VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?

Nora: My all time favorite meal is grilled chicken, roasted potatoes, and grilled brussels sprouts.

VYPE: Are you involved in any other activities?

Nora: I am very active in student leadership within our high school such as Student Council and Class Office, as well as the community service clubs Interact Club and Character Counts Club.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Nora: I’m so very thankful for Coach P! He is so supportive of his team and truly believes in each of our individual potentials.
