FAIRLAND OWLS
Coach: CHAD ROSS
OUTLOOK
Head coach Chad Ross returns several keys players from a team that went 33-7 last year, making it to the state tournament. “We are returning five starters from last year’s state tournament team,” said coach Ross. “The team is comprised of four seniors, eight sophomores, and seven freshmen. We will have great senior leadership to teach the younger ladies the Owl way!” Kinley Powell (C, IF, Sr.) can play multiple positions and will likely be called upon to do so again this season. She also provides great leadership on and off the field. Olivia Matthews (OF, Sr.) gets the offense going with her aggressive play at the plate. Matthews is the lead-off hitter and a record setter for the Lady Owls. Erica Schertz (P, Sr.) is a VYPE Top 100 selectee and someone the Lady Owls will need in the circle. Schertz will see most of the action with Aubrey Kinsey (P, IF, So.) and McKenna Hicks (P, 2B, OF, Fr.) seeing some time as well. Jaylee Campbell (SS, So.) is a strong player in the middle of the defense and has a great arm. Campbell can hit for average and force teams to adjust how they pitch to her. Also look for utility player Katy Crawford (Sr.) this season. Other players include Gracin Riggs (OF, So.), Ella Oswald (OF, So.), Averi Anderson (1B, So.), Rylee Talbot (UT, So.), Linsey Riley (OF, 3B, So.), MaKenna Lawson (OF, So.), Calli Moncada (IF, OF, Fr.), Alivia Bartley (C, UT, Fr.), Mia Ross (OF, 1B, Fr.), Bryleigh Moore (OF, Fr.), Lanie Crawford (C, UT, Fr.), and Issie Wallain (OF, Fr.).
