Players to Watch

Cheer

Macy Hailey – Commerce

Macy has a 4.0 GPA, is a co-captain of the cheer team, always knows the material, and has super sharp and tight motions.  She is a very versatile cheerleader, she is able to fly, base, or back or front spot if needed. She is good to help those who need it and is willing to do whatever is needed to make the squad the best.

Haleigh McKinzie – Fairland

She is a senior and co captain this year. She has been cheering since she was in junior high  and has a few years of All Star cheer under her belt. She works hard in school and makes the team unified. She strives for school spirit and community involvement.

Hannah Sikes – Ketchum

Hannah works hard on and off the mats. She is a phenomenal cheerleader and tumbler. She looks forward to cheering in college.

Jericho Burrow – Miami

Jericho is one of the team’s seniors. If you need something done, she will do it. Jericho is an excellent leader. She helps others when they are struggling with material or stunting. She is also incredibly strong. Jericho has a couple of state powerlifting titles.

Matti Hess – Vinita

Matti is dedicated to making the team better.  As captain she encourages others to do their best and to practice at home.  Matti is very talented and is very capable at cheering at the collegiate level.  Matti was also named as an All American Cheerleader at the OU Varsity Spirit Camp this past summer.

Boys Cross Country

Xander Westfall – Afton

A sophomore, Westfall is in his second year to run for varsity. He has a great work ethic.

Jackson Kernan – Grove

Kernan is a senior that has All-Stated the last two years and has a chance to do it again this year.

Girls Cross Country

Kat Osterberger – Afton

Kat is a senior and a four-year runner for Afton. She is an outstanding athlete who works hard at her craft.

Nora Sheffield – Grove

Nora has not ran cross country since she was in the eighth grade at Cleora. She came to Grove in good condition and placed 15th at the Tahlequah Early Tiger meet. She continues to improve and is never satisfied with her times.

Jacie Moffett – Jay

Jacie is a senior at Jay and led the Lady Bulldogs to a fourth place finish last year in class 3A cross country state championship. She finished fourteenth overall.  Jacie is a great leader and a hard worker and gives 100% in all that she does.

Lauren Fraley – Vinita

Fraley is an outstanding runner, a hard worker, and she is excels in the classroom.

Underclassmen to Watch


Cheer

Esme Morales – Commerce

Esme is a freshman this year and has been an asset to the squad.  She is a super jumper, tumbler, and side base.  Esme is willing to do anything to help make the squad the best it can be.

Charlie Miller – Fairland

She is a freshman who pushes not only herself but her team to succeed. She works to improve everyday and fights to become a great athlete and student.

Lexi Rogers – Ketchum

Lexi goes to Southwest Extreme Cheer and Tumbling where she is on the Bullets Team. She is a hard worker and looks forward to being a college cheerleader.

Avery Walther – Miami

Walther loves to help spread school spirit. She is a hard worker and an asset to the team.

Brayln Hayes – Vinita

Brayln is an amazing tumbler, top girl, and named as an All American Cheerleader at the OU Varsity Spirit Camp this past summer as a Freshman.

Boys Cross Country

Jase McAbee – Grove

He qualified as a sophomore for the first time and ran summer workouts at 6:00 pm everyday and he is in better condition this year.

Girls Cross Country

Abbie Osterberger – Afton

Osterberger is a sophomore and running for varsity for just the second year. She has a top notch work ethic and a bright future.

Mya Pellegrino – Grove

Mya has the ability to be as good as she wants and when she learns consistency in workout, she could make some noise in years to come at the state meet.

Addie Dingsor and Madison King – Jay

Both young ladies are sophomores and dedicated athletes that are returning from last year’s team. They both go above and beyond to make themselves better athletes. This season looks to be special for both of them.

Caydence Livingston – Vinita

Livingston is a freshman who has a lot of potential and is getting better.

Unsung Heroes

Cheer

Mia Jacobs – Fairland

She is co-captain this year and proves everyday what a great leader she is. Mia is constantly making sure everyone around her is taken care of before herself. She always is on top of getting things done for game days and being there for her teammates when needed.

Ryleigh Bishop – Ketchum

Ryleigh got injured playing softball during her junior year. She chooses to continue cheering and playing every single day. She puts her team’s needs ahead of her own. She has overcome so much adversity in her life and she just continues to smile through it all.

Maddi Reed – Miami

Reed goes out of her way to be an outstanding teammate. She is always ready to hep wherever needed and in what ever way she can.

Bailey Huffman – Vinita

Bailey is new to the Vinita cheer team.  She is one of the most spirited cheerleaders on the team.  She is encouraging and willing to try new stunts.  Bailey can always be found with a smile on her face.

Boys Cross Country

Lane Stewart – Grove

Lane has put in extra time during the summer in preparation of qualifying for the state meet. He has worked hard this summer.

Gavin Tate – Jay

This young man is a great positive influence to the program.  He excels in the classroom and in the  athletic program.  He will be leading the  FCA huddle and helps in whatever is asked of him. Team is first with this young man.  He strives each and everyday to help his teammates get better with his enthusiasm and hard work.

Girls Cross Country

Brenna Boudreaux – Afton

The senior has been running with varsity for four years. She is an outstanding young lady that is always team first.

Abbi Dyer – Grove

This is her first year to run cross country and she is learning how to run and compete in this sport. Abbi is a full time soccer player that just decided that running cross country could help her in soccer.

Haiden Smoke – Vinita

She is a sophomore who has become one of the team’s better runners. She works hard and is determined.
