Grove Ridgerunners Boys Basketball Preview – Presented by Mark Lee Shelter Insurance

BOYS

Coach: Zach Trimble

21-22 Record: 14-9

The Ridgerunners return for the 2022- 23 season under the leadership of head coach Zach Trimble, who is in his 12th season at Grove High School.

Trimble said he is looking forward to seeing some of his younger talent step up this season.

“Having to replace a lot but have some young guys that are hungry and ready to step up and fill a role. We will be led by seniors Hagen Hacker and Brayden Casey,” said coach Trimble.

Hagen Hacker (6-2, Sr.) averaged 15.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game last year. Hacker is a three-year starter, along with two-year starter Brayden Casey (5-11, Sr.). The pair of seniors should be the go-to players in the offense.

Jacob Gain (6-2, So.) is an exciting young player who has the talent to see more minutes this year, as will Jackson Gain (6-3, So.) at forward.

Chandler Gonzalez (6-3, Jr.) is another forward coach Trimble is excited to see develop into a force in the paint.

Other players to watch for the Ridgerunners include Kristian Davis (5-11, Jr.), Tucker Brodrick (5-11, So.), Miles Alexander (6-3, So.), Blake Jenkins (6-0, Sr.), Nick O’Neal (6-4, So.), Cade Matheson (6-0, Jr.), Avery Petty (6-0, Fr.), Isaac Sheffield (6-0, Fr.), Bryce Longan (6-0, So.), and Anthony Randolph (6-0, Sr.).

Assistant coaches are Stephen Palesano and Shawn Stovall. Team managers are Kendra Wilson, Kaybree Fields, and Lily Grayned.
