Q&A with Wyandotte’s Atticus Douthit – Presented by Comforting Hands Hospice

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Atticus: Honestly just because it’s fun to me. If it wasn’t, I wouldn’t put in any time or effort.

VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?

Atticus: I wasn’t allowed to play until second grade, but that year my parents allowed me to and I really enjoyed it.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Atticus: Jaret Burney. I’ve been playing with him since I first started. He’s one of my best friends and super fun to play with.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Atticus: It’s taught me to stay focused through the ups and downs.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Atticus: Just being in practice with everyone is pretty enjoyable. The other would be going to eat before games.

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?

Atticus: Allen Iverson, because of how humble he is and he’s my favorite player to watch.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why

Atticus: Mrs. Hampton, she’s like a grandma to me. She’s the nicest person I know

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

Atticus: If you’re going to put time into something, enjoy it.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Atticus: I want to say thank you to my parents, grandparents, and coaches for everything they have done for me.
