Teri Hodges

Pryor Mom of the Month

Originally from Alva, Oklahoma and a graduate of Alva High School, Teri Hodges now calls Pryor home. It’s also the place where her kids attend Pryor High School.

Oldest daughter Kaitlynn graduated from PHS in 2022 and is now a junior at Baker University. Son Colin is a junior at Pryor HS and a member of the cross country, soccer, and academic teams. Also in the Hodges house is German exchange student Joni Kocher who plays soccer for the Tiger.

Hodges said she enjoys being a volunteer and helping the student-athletes reach their full potential.

“Knowing that whatever I do, is for the kids and the team and trying to make it better and easier for them. Some activities could not be done if there were no parents or volunteers to help. I also think all kids should be recognized for the hard work and dedication in whatever activity they are engaged in. My son participates in two sports that don’t get as much attention as some others, but those kids work so hard at what they do. Volunteering allows me to help the kids get additional funding for uniforms, trips, meals, etc. and for them to know they are noticed, and that people are proud of them,” said Hodges.

From taking photos to banquets, Hodges and the team of volunteers are involved in everything their teams need.

“I have helped with fundraising of all kinds, by gathering sponsorships, organizing senior night, end of the year banquets, photo shoots and meals for the team. I also run the boys soccer Instagram page. I try to make sure all the information for the games, sponsorships, wins, etc. are on the Instagram page. This allows the boys’ team’s hard work and success to be seen by the community, school, friends, and family,” said Hodges.

Being a Pryor family, Hodges said the community support is one reason it’s a great place for the students at PHS.

“Pryor High School has an excellent group of teachers, coaches, staff, and administrators who truly care for the kids in the school. They offer the academics and athletics that my kids have enjoyed, and these have helped make them better people. We are blessed with a great community like Pryor too. The people here always come through to help with donations, sponsorships, and support of the kids. You cannot beat this community when it comes to helping when asked,” said Hodges.
