Verdigris Volleyball Preview – Presented by Lazy J’s Tackle

Several starters will find their way back to the court for the Lady Cards as they look to lead this team to a potential state run this season. Head coach Caleb Horton is ready to see what this team can accomplish this season.

“We are looking forward to following up the success from last season with three seniors that will be four-year starters. This season we have depth in most positions and are excited as the girls push to make a deep run in state,” said coach Horton.

Logan Hamilton is one of those four-year starters and a name their opponents are familiar with thanks to her play on the court.

“Her move from middle blocker to outside last season really allowed her to flourish. She led the team in kills with 407 and had 64 aces,” said coach Horton.

Abagayle Barnes is another player to watch this season. Her defense has continued to improve, and she will be a steady, reliable player for Verdigris again this season. Also look for Cambria Boren, a young player with a high ceiling.

Lily Beller brings a high IQ to the court for the Lady Cards and will contribute to the overall success of the team.
