Chouteau Wildcats Boys Basketball Preview – Presented By Welch State Bank

Coach: Kelly Lyn Clarke

21-22 Record: 15-13

The Chouteau Wildcats are coming into this season ready to build off of last year. With only one starter back from last season, the Wildcats will have some growing to do but head coach Kelly Lyn Clarke is looking for the players to step up. “Senior Brett Gwartney is our only starter from a year ago,” Clarke said. “He will be a leader for us on and off the court.” Gwartney (6-2, Sr.) is a three-sport athlete for Chouteau, playing basketball, baseball, and running track. He is an outstanding athlete and can play just about any position on the court. A freshman that will look to make

contributions this season is Luke Grossman (6-0, Fr.). He is a guard with a very promising future as a member of the Wildcats. Phil Coblentz (6-0, Sr.) is a senior that can help in all areas of the game. He is always ready to do whatever he can to help the team. Other Wildcats that will look to make contributions this season are Trey Miller (6-1, So.), Landon Miller (5-8, Fr.), Jaxson Craine (5-9, Jr.), Matthew Soldier (5-9, Jr.), Toby Burkholder (6-0, Sr.), Adam Smith (5-8, Sr.), Tyler Detweiler (5-10, So.), CJ Phillips (5-10, Sr.), and Daniel Burkholder (5-9, Jr.). The team’s assistant coaches are Travis Brannon and Robert Ross.
